Hos 5:15 “I shall go, I shall return to My place, until they confess their guilt and seek My face, in their distress diligently search for Me, and say,
Hos 6:1 ‘Come, and let us turn back to יהוה. For He has torn but He does heal us, He has stricken but He binds us up.
Deu 30:1 “And it shall be, when all these words come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you shall bring them back to your heart among all the gentiles where יהוה your Elohim drives you,
Deu 30:2 and shall turn back to יהוה your Elohim and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your being, you and your children,
Deu 30:3 then יהוה your Elohim shall turn back your captivity, and shall have compassion on you, and He shall turn back and gather you from all the peoples where יהוה your Elohim has scattered you.
Jer 3:12 “Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, O backsliding Yisra’ĕl,’ declares יהוה, ‘I shall not look on you in displeasure, for I am kind,’ declares יהוה, ‘and I do not bear a grudge forever.
Jer 3:13 ‘Only, acknowledge your crookedness, because you have transgressed against יהוה your Elohim, and have scattered your ways to strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares יהוה.
Jer 3:14 “Return, O backsliding children,” declares יהוה, “for I shall rule over you, and shall take you, one from a city and two from a clan, and shall bring you to Tsiyon.
Jer 3:15 “And I shall give you shepherds according to My heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
I often hear the misled idea the Yahweh will forgive His people in the end as if it were an automatic act of ‘grace’ and this goes along with the mistaken teaching that “no one is righteous, no not one”! The verses that are used to come to this conclusion are taken completely out of context.
A closer study will reveal in each such verse(s) that they will be preceded by a “call unto Me” or a “return to Yahweh” statement. For Yahweh will NOT return to you until you return to Him, nor will He return and restore Yisra’el until Yisra’el calls on Him in repentance.
This is just part of the lies we have inherited. For years in the ‘church’ I heard people wanting ‘revival’, but they are never willing to give up their pagan, worldly ways, in order to receive “restoration” from Yahweh. This is a requirement of Yahweh given not only in the Torah and the Prophets but also among the words of our Messiah, Yahusha, as He said we must be willing to leave the world behind us in order to follow Him.
When Yahusha prayed to Yahweh for His taught ones, He specifically stated that He did NOT pray for those who remained in the world, but only to those who the Father had led to follow, believe and obey Him.
Yahweh does and will forgive His people, however, there is no forgiveness without repentance. In the words of Yahusha :
Luk 17:3 “Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
Luk 17:4 “And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day comes back to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
The idea of automatic forgiveness because of ‘grace’ is part of what Yahudah (Jude) wrote that they would pervert the ‘favour’ of Yahweh into a license for lasciviousness (living unrighteously). This, in my understanding now, is a direct rebuke of Paul’s teachings of ‘grace’.
Jer 33:2 “Thus said יהוה who made it, יהוה who formed it to establish it, יהוה is His Name,
Jer 33:3 ‘Call unto Me, and I shall answer you, and show you great and inaccessible matters, which you have not known.’
Jer 33:7 ‘And I shall turn back the captivity of Yehudah and the captivity of Yisra’ĕl, and shall build them as at the first,
Jer 33:8 and shall cleanse them from all their crookedness that they have sinned against Me. And I shall pardon all their crookednesses that they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.
There is also a difference of ‘corporate’ forgiveness and ‘individual’ forgiveness, though both require repentance and a return to following Yahweh with our whole heart. Corporate being the nation of Yisra’el, regardless of where on this earth we may be scattered. He will not re-gather His people until we understand what was written in the “Song of Mosheh” and call on Him and confess and ASK. (ask, seek and knock)
Cleansing Yisra’el of its corporate past sins and the pardoning of all the millennium of transgressions of Yisra’el and Yahudah is what Yahweh is waiting for. But as we see in the Scriptures, He will not restore Yisra’el until we understand our wickednesses and turn back to Him. This is not the cleansing and pardoning of individuals who are sinning. This must be done by each and every one of us, as Scripture states:
Eze 18:4 “See, all beings are Mine, the being of the father as well as the being of the son is Mine. The being that is sinning shall die.
Eze 18:20 “The being who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the crookedness of the father, nor the father bear the crookedness of the son. The righteousness of the righteous is upon himself, and the wrongness of the wrong is upon himself.
Eze 7:3 ‘Now the end is upon you, and I shall send My displeasure against you, and judge you according to your ways, and repay you for all your abominations.
Eze 7:4 ‘And My eye shall not pardon you, nor would I spare, for I repay your ways while your abominations are in your midst. And you shall know that I am יהוה!’
Eze 7:5 “Thus said the Master יהוה, ‘A calamity, an only calamity, look, it has come!
Eze 7:6 ‘An end has come, the end has come! It has awakened against you, look, it has come!
Eze 7:7 ‘The turn has come to you, O inhabitants of the land. The time has come, a day of uproar is near, and not of rejoicing in the mountains.
Eze 7:8 ‘Soon I shall pour out My wrath, and shall complete My displeasure upon you, and judge you according to your ways, and repay you for all your abominations.
Eze 7:9 ‘And My eye shall not pardon, nor would I spare. I give you according to your ways while your abominations are in your midst. And you shall know that I am יהוה who smites.
Does any of this sound like we will receive automatic forgiveness? We are responsible for the abominations of our own lives and in some ways for the sins of our fathers. We are responsible for our crookedness, though we learned it from our fathers. Ignorance of the ‘Law” is no excuse, because we have the Scriptures to show us that our fathers were wrong. If we did not have the Scriptures and the Torah of Yahweh, then that excuse might stand. But we are told many times in the Scriptures that we are to diligently search that the truth may be revealed.
When we do this individually, and find that we have been misled and inherited nothing but lies from our fore-fathers, we need to repent and He is faithful to forgive.
Jer 36:3 “It could be that the house of Yehudah hears of all the evil which I plan to bring upon them, so that each one turns back from his evil way, and I shall pardon their crookedness and their sin.”
Jer 33:11 the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who are saying, “Praise יהוה of hosts, for יהוה is good, for His kindness is forever,” of those who are bringing the offering of praise into the House of יהוה. For I shall turn back the captivity of the land, as at the first,’ declares יהוה.
Yahweh is an Awesome El, He is faithful to forgive!
This leads into the next topic of discussion. This is one of the keys to the knowledge that is essential to coming to the truth of His Torah and life. Yahusha Himself came to declare the Name of the Father as His Name had been removed from the mouths of his people by unrighteous, Talmudic, teachers. For which our Messiah, Yahusha, had much to say, and none of flattery. He called them a ‘brood of adders’ as did Yohanan, He told them that they would perish at His feet. He was called a blasphemer because He taught in the Name of Yahweh, He came in the Father’s Name; Yah, the personal Name of Yahweh as used in the Tehellim (Psalms), Yahweh the Father, Yahusha the Son. One ‘Jewish’ thought from the Talmud that I do agree with and proves beyond any doubt that Yahusha is Yahweh is a statement that says that; The Messiah is ‘The Spirit of Yahweh’, Yahusha is that Spirit of Yahweh that came in the flesh, and I believe that is why Yahusha told His emissaries that He had to go to the Father before His Spirit could come and dwell with His people.
I therefore Declare His Name, Yahweh
The “Jewish” rabbi had declared Yahweh’s Name to be ‘too holy to speak’. This is nowhere to be found in the Scripture. They removed and replaced His Name, Yahweh, 6,823 times in the Scriptures.
