The Test of a True Teacher/Prophet

Jer 17:5  Thus said יהוה, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart turns away from יהוה.

Jer 17:7  “Blessed is the man who trusts in יהוה, and whose trust is יהוה.

Here in these Scripture verses from the Torah we will see that Paul cannot be anything but a false teacher.  If someone turns us away from the Torah of Yahweh and tries to change what was written by the Father and His commands, they are false.

1.      Mixed worship is forbidden in the Torah and throughout the Scriptures from Torah to Revelation.  Christians are ignorant of the fact that they are worshiping a mix of many Roman, Greek, Babelian, Egyptian, Philistine and more, false gods.  Paul introduces this and Christianity is born through him.

2.      Circumcision is a command of Yahweh in the Torah…Period!  If you want to become of the family of Yisra’el, you are to be circumcised.  We are also commanded in the Torah that we are to circumcise our own heart.

3.      The Torah was given as a Law FOREVER, throughout our generations and it applied to both the native Yisra’elite and to those who sojourn with them and respectively to anyone who is ‘grafted-in’.

4.      The Torah states in a number of places that ‘if you live by the commands of Torah, you shall live.  Any statement by Paul that says differently, such as; the Torah cannot save or no one is saved by the Torah, this is a flat out lie, a contradiction of the Torah.

5.      What did Paul preach in Athens, a hot bed of paganism, in Acts 17 ?   Paul also did some performance of ‘wonders’ and this last verse shows that does not prove authenticity.

Let me remind you here that it only takes one lie or false teaching to make a man a false teacher/prophet.  So far we have five that I will show to be indisputable untruths from Paul, so far.

Yahweh also tells us that He will lay before us stumbling blocks, as a test to see if we will follow Him or not.

Jer 6:21  Therefore thus said יהוה, “See, I am laying stumbling-blocks before this people. And the fathers and the sons together shall stumble on them, the neighbour and his friend shall perish.”

Here is the Torah text pertaining to the test of a true or false teacher/prophet.

Deu 13:1  “When there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he shall give you a sign or a wonder,

Deu 13:2  and the sign or the wonder shall come true, of which he has spoken to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other mighty ones – which you have not known – and serve them,’

Act 17:22  And having stood in the midst of the Areopagus Sha’ul said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious in every matter.

Act 17:23  “For passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN MIGHTY ONE. Not knowing then whom you worship, I make Him known to you:

According to the Torah of Yahweh we are to tear down the pagan altars and temples and pillars and such.

Exo 23:24 “Do not bow down to their mighty ones, nor serve them, nor do according to their works, but without fail overthrow them and without fail break down their pillars.

Exo 23:32 “Do not make a covenant with them nor with their mighty ones.

Exo 23:33 “Let them not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me when you serve their mighty ones, when it becomes a snare to you.”

2Ki 10:23  And Yehu and Yehonadab son of Rekab went into the house of Baʽal, and said to the servants of Baʽal, “Search and see that no servants of יהוה are here with you, but only the servants of Baʽal.”
2Ki 10:24  So they went in to make offerings and burnt offerings. Now Yehu had appointed for himself eighty men on the outside, and had said, “The man who lets escape any of the men whom I have brought into your hands, his life for his life!”
2Ki 10:25  And it came to be, when he had finished making the burnt offering, Yehu said to the guard and to the officers, “Go in, smite them, let no one come out!” And they smote them with the edge of the sword, and the guards and the officers threw them out, and went into the inner room of the house of Baʽal,
2Ki 10:26  and brought out the pillars of the house of Baʽal and burned them,
2Ki 10:27  and broke down the statue of Baʽal, and broke down the house of Baʽal and made it a latrine to this day.
2Ki 10:28  Thus Yehu destroyed Baʽal out of Yisra’el.

There is no way that Yahweh would condone one of His servants using a pagan altar to teach a new teaching.  This verse in Acts is exactly what verse 2 of Debarim (Deu) 13 is warning us about.  Christianity is born with Paul’s teaching, a mixture of pagan worship with ‘his’ gospel that has little to no similarity to the 4 true gospels of Messiah.  Paul’s teachings are not at all the same as Messiah, Yahusha’s teaching.

Did any one of the other 4 gospel writers call them “My Gospel”?  No, they were the Gospel of Yahusha, Messiah, according to…Matt, Mark, Luke and Yohanan.  How many times does Paul use the word ‘I’?  This is the sign of a very egotistical personality.  Paul was the king of boasters and at the same time taught not to boast.  In Corinthians he even indulges himself in folly, (being a Fool) and in reality is telling us exactly who he is.  Boasting of being a thief and that he, himself, gives his listeners in marriage.

He puts himself above and better than all the true emissaries of Yahusha in 2 Cor 11:5 and 23:

2Co 11:5  For I reckon that I am not inferior to the most eminent emissaries.

2Co 11:23  Are they servants of Messiah? – I speak as beside myself – I am more, in labours much more, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths many times.

He reveals much more about himself in 2 Cor 11, and again in 12 he even refers himself to be ‘crafty’. Paul was not, could not have been, an ‘emissary’ of Yahusha.  Acts 1 tells us who can be an emissary.  It was necessary to replace Yehudah (Judas) so that there remain 12 and only 12 Emissaries of Yahusha, as we are told in Rev., there are 12 foundation stones and the names of the 12 emissaries of Yahusha will be on those stones.  There is no 13th ‘apostle’.  While Mark and Luke are good servants of Messiah they are not listed as emissaries either, the list of the 12 emissaries of Yahusha are in Acts 1.

Act 1:21  “It is therefore necessary that of the men who have been with us all the time that the Master יהושע went in and out among us,

Act 1:22  beginning from the immersion of Yohanan to that day when He was taken up from us, that one of these should become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

Act 1:23  And they put forward two: Yosĕph called Barsabba, who was also called Justus, and Mattithyahu.

Act 1:24  And praying they said, “You, יהוה, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two You have chosen

Act 1:25  to receive the share in this service and office of the emissary from which Yehudah by transgression fell, to go to his own place.”

Act 1:26  And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Mattithyahu. And he was numbered with the eleven emissaries.

The replacement emissary had to be one who had been with Yahusha, from the beginning. Period.

To even ask that the listeners indulge him in a little, (a little??), folly goes against what was written in Proverbs.  There are a great number of Proverbs that forbid folly or acting as the fool.  I personally believe that Paul had to say these things in 2 Cor so that when he claims that he does not lie, that in a dubious way he is telling the truth.

Let us get back to the text of the test of a true teacher/prophet.

Deu 13:3  do not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for יהוה your Elohim is trying you to know whether you love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being.

Once you realize that one is speaking falsely and taking you away from the Torah and commands of Yahweh you are to stop listening to that person, immediately.  Even if some of what they are saying is true, a large truth that contains a little lie is a lie, it is no longer truth.  “Beware of the ‘leaven’ of the Pharisees.  A little ‘leaven’ spoils the whole batch.”  Paul came and boasted that he was a “Pharisee of Pharisees”.   I believe it was Paul specifically that Yahusha was warning us about.  Yahusha was the ‘light’, and we know that whenever light is shown, there will be ‘darkness’ to follow and try to take away the light.

Deu 13:4  “Walk after יהוה your Elohim and fear Him, and guard His commands and obey His voice, and serve Him and cling to Him.

Deu 13:5  “And that prophet or that dreamer of dreams is put to death, because he has spoken apostasy against יהוה your Elohim – who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim and redeemed you from the house of bondage – to make you stray from the way in which יהוה your Elohim commanded you to walk. Thus you shall purge the evil from your midst.

Deu 13:6  “When your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own being, entices you secretly, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other mighty ones’– which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers,

Deu 13:7  of the mighty ones of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth –

Deu 13:8  do not agree with him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pardon him, nor spare him or conceal him,

Deu 13:9  but you shall certainly kill him. Your hand is first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people,

Deu 13:10  and you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage.

The Yahudim heard what Paul was preaching here about an unknown god, and they knew the Torah command above.

2Co 11:24  Five times I received from the Yehudim forty stripes less one.

2Co 11:25  Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned,

The Yahudim that stoned Paul and attempted to kill him did so rightfully according to This Torah command.  He at times claimed that he did not speak against the Torah but he truly was, in many ways.  He is the source of the false teaching that the ‘law’ was done away with. When he says that if you circumcise yourself that you bind yourself to the whole Torah and that the Torah was a yoke that no one could keep.  He takes completely out of context statements such as;  “there is none righteous, no not one”, getting you to believe that you cannot be righteous.  In essence telling you the same lie the serpent spoke to Chauah (Eve) in the garden.

You do bind yourself to the Torah when you ‘graft-in’ to Yisra’el.  That is not a bad thing at all!!  I always hear how the Torah law is too much to have to keep, o contraire!  How many ‘laws’ are there on the books in the U.S.?  There are only 613 Torah commands.  Two years ago I heard an ad on TV that stated that 1,500 tax laws had been changed for that year alone.  1500 just in the tax law.  And you complain about 613, that is easily fulfilled if you truly love Yahweh and your neighbor.  And some of those commands cannot be performed in these days because we have no Hekal and no altar to Yahweh.  Why?  Because they are not in good fellowship with the Father!  Paul entices you to believe we CANNOT keep the Torah, but nowhere in the Scriptures does it say that.  It does say however, that you WON’T keep the Torah, because of your hardheartedness and rebellion.  You fail to circumcise the foreskin of your heart and refuse to keep the Torah.  Our Messiah showed us that as human, fully human, He kept the Torah and He tells us both in the Tanakh and in the Messianic Writings that we are to walk as He walked and be perfect as He is perfect.  Yahweh/Yahusha would not say this if it were not possible.  However, let me say this, walking in righteousness does not mean we are perfect, we will make mistakes, speak rashly and or do things that are not ‘perfect’ and then when we are convicted of that error by the Spirit and we repent of that error, we then have an advocate to plead for us.  All the righteous men of the Scriptures made mistakes ‘occasionally’.

Deu 13:11  “And let all Yisra’ĕl hear and fear, and not again do any such evil matter as this in your midst.

Deu 13:12  “When you hear someone in one of your cities, which יהוה your Elohim gives you to dwell in, saying,

Deu 13:13  ‘Some men, sons of Beliyaʽal, have gone out of you midst and led the inhabitants of their city astray, saying, “Let us go and serve other mighty ones” ’ – mighty ones whom you have not known –

Deu 13:14  then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And see if the matter is true and established that this abomination was done in your midst,

Deu 13:15  you shall certainly smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, putting it under the ban, and all that is in it and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.

Deu 13:16  “And gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, before יהוה your Elohim. And it shall be a heap forever, never to be built again.

Deu 13:17  “And none of that which is put under the ban is to cling to your hand, so that יהוה turns from the fierceness of His displeasure and shall show you compassion, love you and increase you, as He swore to your fathers,

Deu 13:18  when you obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to guard all His commands which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of יהוה your Elohim.

Verse 13 above, makes Paul a ‘son of Beliya’al, as he most assuredly does take us away from Torah.  At this point it is our individual responsibility to open an investigation into the matter.  We are responsible for our actions, even if someone else is teaching us falsely.  Those who listen and follow these false teachers lose all that they had worked for and will not be saved in the last day.  That is why Yahusha warns us to not be led astray, we are to diligently search the Scriptures to make sure that what is being taught is true, that is a command to us.  But one must know the Scriptures and study them for onerself.  That is the only way to life, if we are to follow Messiah and all that He taught, you must know the Torah that He taught and supported.  “My people perish for lack of knowledge”.

Here again in chapter 18 we are told about these false prophet/teachers, with a little clarity on the last words of the last verse.

Deu 18:20  ‘But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other mighty ones, even that prophet shall die.’

Deu 18:21  “And when you say in your heart, ‘How do we know the word which יהוה has not spoken?’ –

Deu 18:22  when the prophet speaks in the Name of יהוה and the word is not, or comes not, that is the word which יהוה has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

This word ‘afraid’ is not the true translation of the Hebrew word ‘gur’.  The verse should actually read “…Do not associate with him.”

You are to stone this person to death, back in that day anyway, today we should ‘shun’ the man.  You do not eat with him or meet with him nor greet him or have anything whatsoever to do with him.  Upon the discovery that he has spoken falsely, you immediately stop listening.  While we can no longer do this to Paul himself, we are to do this by extension to anyone who is teaching what Paul taught, they are acting as ‘disciples’ of Paul.

In my experience,  I would then challenge their statement and attempt to correct him, if he makes correction and discontinues the falseness then that is wonderful and it is a done deal, all is forgiven.  However, if he will not listen and change then you break any and all contact and do not listen to him any further.

You simply rebuke him in his error and whatever results you take the appropriate action.  If you then feel led to warn others as I am, you do so.  And that is what I am doing now.

In going back over these Scriptures and in upholding the Torah, Paul does not pass the test of being a true teacher/prophet.  Prophet in that he did say that he was going to appeal directly to Caesar, he never did, his prophecy was false.

In teaching, he turned us away from the Torah and the commands of Yahweh in a number of ways.  In Circumcision, in the fact that he says that the Torah cannot save yet the Torah says that IF we live by the Torah we shall live.  The two statements do not agree, one is a lie and the other is Torah.

There is much more!
